Invasive Species Identification, Removal, and Education

Invasive Species Identification, Removal, and Education

Exotic invasive species are a growing problem in our area, and the Middlesex Environmental trail is no exception. We have already identified several pockets of Multiflora Rose, Tree of Heaven, Garlic Mustard, European Swallowwort, and Autumn Olive, which all need to be removed so that native species can thrive. In addition to the removal of these species, we are also looking for new educational plaques that can be placed along the trail to help inform the public about the growing issues involving invasive species.
