Pumpkins…did you know
that although pumpkin is a healthy vegetable to eat because of its fiber and vitamins, pumpkin seeds are great for you too! The seeds are an excellent source of dietary fiber and mono-unsaturated fatty acids, which are good for heart health. In addition, the seeds are concentrated sources of protein, minerals and health-benefiting vitamins. So next time you carve that pumpkin, save the seeds and roast some in the oven for a healthy snack!

It’s Party Time!

The class parties are just around the corner – Please do not send treats in without first asking your head room parent if there are any food allergies in your child’s classroom.  The teacher will have this information as well.  He/She will not tell you the name of the child, but will give you an idea of what food allergies are in the classroom.  PLEASE bring in healthy snacks! Involve your child in the choice and making of a healthy snack – It’s a great learning opportunity!  You can always search the internet together for healthy recipes, too!
