Bridge Repairs

The bridges that students and community members use to traverse the multiple stream crossings along the trail are in need of repair. Each bridge should be its own project, but if you are feeling ambitious you may take on multiple bridges. The most common issue that has been encountered involving the bridges is the erosion of the base upon which they rest. This base will need to be reinforced, and the bridges reset in place to maintain stability. A few of the bridges should be raised so as to avoid the collection of debris during storms and spring runoff. The addition of handrails along the bridges would also be a welcome improvement!

Special Note: Bridge 2 and Bridge 4 will need to be designed to support the weight of a loaded Bobcat front-end loader (7000 pounds) and be made at least 6 feet wide.  This will allow for easier access and maintenance along the trail.
