Small Steps, Big Dreams: Middlesex Elementary 2018-19

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." - Eleanor Roosevelt

As Eleanor Roosevelt pointed out, we must deeply believe in our dreams and resist the pressure to give them up.  However, Colin Powell also adds to our understanding of dreams when he said "a dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work."  During the 2018-19 school year we will not only teach students to cast their gaze to the possibilities of the future, but will work daily to provide them with the understanding and skills that they need to achieve their dreams.

By recognizing the power of daily habits, teamwork, and our individual strengths we will take great strides towards achieving our dreams this year.  In order to teach students about 21st Century Learning Skills we will begin to use the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Individuals as they were described in the Leader in Me program.

Each month we will focus on a specific trait, and will celebrate the knowledge that we gain every day.  As with our Super Hero theme last year, we will hold monthly community meetings to honor specific students and celebrate our growth as a school!
